Bourne Club

The Bourne Club is a members’ owned racquets club that also provides bridge, a fitness room, table tennis, and snooker. As well as an active social calendar for its members.

 

The club is located just outside the historical market town of Farnham and occupies a prime location in the heart of the Bourne district where it has been providing racquets facilities since the 1920s. The club offers an exciting programme of tennis. As well as having both indoor and outdoor courts, which allows members to play all year round.

 

Social Play

Adult members enjoy many club session each week. Including a social club night on Tuesday evenings. Alex Fricker, the Head Pro, organises a mixed Mix-in Morning every Thursday. This is a great way for new members to meet current members. There are also Men’s Mornings on Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Every first Sunday of the month, there is a Tea and Tennis fun mixed tournament, which is open to all. There are also regular Friday night social tennis tournaments. Courts are easy to book either from home or at the Club, and members can book up to two weeks in advance.

 

Coaching

Head Alex Fricker leads a team of LTA qualified coaches. As well as offering a comprehensive range of after school, and pay and play group coaching sessions for youngsters, the Club also fields various junior teams in a range of competitions.

 

Coaching is also available to adults with a variety of group courses and drills on offer from Beginner to Intermediate/Advanced. Courses allow players to progress within a set framework alongside players of a similar ability, whereas the drills allow players to flexibly pick and choose which sessions best meet their needs. Also Alex and the team offer private tuition.

 

Competitive Tennis

As a competitive club, there are opportunities for all standards. Adult teams into various summer and winter competitions, including the prestigious Aegon Team Tennis League. The club also runs a number of internal leagues, which usually combine match play with a social event after. Juniors also have access to a range of internal and external match play. These include the Aegon Team Tennis League.

 

Membership

Bronze, Silver and Gold membership packages are available and enable you to use the tennis facilties as well as many other benefits. Bourne Club also offers a number of junior membership. While there is a joining fee, you can choose to pay in one lump sum or monthly. Visitors are welcome for up to 4 times for a small fee.

Not only is the 1st Serve Café a great place to relax, it’s also available for hire. So think about holding your next parting at Bourne Club.
