Located in Edinburgh, Merchiston Tennis Club is a local friendly club. Run by it’s members for the members, you can expect a warm friendly welcome and an exciting programme. The tennis club has a ‘Standard Life’ section comprising members from a local major employer.

 

Social Play

There’s a very healthy and active non-team, fun and sociable cohort of members! They meet all year round on Friday evenings to play social tennis. In addition, ladies meet on Thursday evenings.

 

Coaching

Both group and individual lessons are available. Regular coaching take place each afternoon from Tuesday to Friday. As well as on Tuesday evenings. So, regardless of your age or ability, if you want to improve your game, then you have a range of opportunities.

 

Competitive Tennis

4 mens teams and 2 ladies teams compete in the Dunlop East of Scotland leagues. As well as vets teams and winter league teams. Some teams even compete in various other local and national competitions. Last year, 10 junior teams (boys, girls and younger mixed) competed in the Aegon league.

 

Membership

As Merchiston Tennis Club is run on a volunteer basis, the club’s long term success rests on the membership and committee. The club offers a range of membership including tennis only as well as tennis and bowls. Various discount are also available.

 

Extras

The club shares facilities with Merchiston Bowling Club. The combined club, Merchiston Tennis and Bowling Club runs a busy Clubhouse with Bar. The clubhouse is also available to members for private functions.
