Portswood Lawn Tennis Club

Located in Southampton, Portswood Lawn Tennis Club is a friendly club with a vibrant range of tennis on offer.

In addition to a superb range of tennis, a number of social events take place. These include an end-of-season party, Summer Ball, specialised talks or similar occasions.

Social Play

Club mix-in sessions happen on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer-time and on Sunday afternoons. In winter they take place on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons. As these sessions are turn up and mix in, they are ideal for new members who soon meet a number of people and become known. Also, there are extra mix-ins on Bank Holiday Mondays.

Coaching

Tennis Coaching at Porstwood is run by JG Tennis. Director Josh Gook is the Head Coach and runs a comprehensive coaching programme for all ages and abilities.

Competitive Tennis

Club teams are active in summer and winter leagues and there are opportunities to compete in the Summer Apsley League and Hants and IOW league, as well as others.

Also during the summer, there are regular American tournaments, which enable all members to play competitively against each other. Juniors have the chance to play in friendly matches with other clubs.

With a range of membership package, Portswood Lawn Tennis Club caters for all. Plus with affordable fees, it’s really worth joining the club!
