Rhiwbina Tennis Club
From humble beginnings, Rhiwbina Tennis Club has grown to become one of the most successful tennis clubs in Wales. The club in enthusiastic about delivering tennis for all age groups including tots, mini, junior, adults and vets.
Rhiwbina Tennis Club is Clubmark accredited and was awarded Tennismark status in August 2013. The Club has a great blend of coaching, competition and social play for players of all age groups and abilities.
As part of Rhiwbina Recreation Club, members have access to two bars, large function rooms, and changing facilities. As well as the other sporting sections, such as squash, rugby, and indoor and outdoor bowls.
If you’re looking for passionate tennis players to play with, then Rhiwbina has a very active social tennis scene. Members meet weekly for turn up and mix in sessions. And of course, you’re able to book a court for your own games whenever you want to.
The Tennis Club has a full-time LTA Licensed Coach, Tom James. Tom has an ITF world ranking 41 (35+) and won the ITF Tenerife Open (December 2014). He leads a team of 5 assistant coaches and 18 tennis leaders who provide a year round coaching programme for adults and juniors.
In addition to one of the country’s best coaching programme, Rhiwbina Tennis Club competes locally and nationally with 38 teams. One of the largest amount teams from any UK club. Also a number of junior and adult LTA tournaments are on offer. As well as internal club matches, Club Championships, Road to Wimbledon and the Cardiff Cup.
When joining, new members receive a discount on their first year fees. Rhiwbina Tennis Club offers a range of membership options which enable all to join the club. Visitors are also welcome for a small fee.
As a fantastic community club, members are actively involved in promoting tennis in the South Wales region with strong local schools programme as well as other outreach programmes.
