Shaftesbury Lawn Tennis Club

Shaftesbury Lawn Tennis Club is based at Shaftesbury School in North Dorset. The Club Mark status club is open all weekend, during all school holidays and after 3 pm on weekdays during term time.

Social Play

As a club member, it’s easy to book a court for your own games, and you can even do it online. Plus, courts can be used by non-members for pay & play, however, you must book in advance.

Coaching

Tennis coaching for adults and children, from beginners to advanced. Coaching is run by Ian Griffin, a Level 4 LTA Coach, who operates Griffin Tennis Academy. Adult coaching is on a Tuesday night, Cardio tennis is on a Thursday night and there are Rusty rackets on Wednesday nights.

Groups are open to non-members. One-on-one private lessons are also available subject to membership status.

Competitive Tennis

For the more competitive, there are teams in local leagues. Including Mens and Mixed teams in the LTA Dorset League. There’s also a Mixed Team in the Shaftesbury and District League, and Yeovil and District League.

If you’re a junior, don’t worry as the club also runs a league every summer.
