Waverley Lawn Tennis, Squash and Sports Club
Formed in 1885, Waverley Lawn Tennis, Squash and Sports Club is one of the foremost names in Scottish tennis. Catering for all standards from beginner to competitive team player, Waverley is a club with plenty to offer everyone. Whether you’re after social sports, coaching or competitive play, the club offers all this and more!
Tennis at Waverley is a year-round sport and members enjoy the weekly social tennis sessions. These are usually on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Also as member you have access to virtually unlimited court time for you own games.
Waverley Tennis Academy is as it’s name suggest the club’s coaching programme. Originally founded by LTA Pro Tam Bruce, it is now run by Scott Tulloch and Juanfran Torres. They run an extensive coaching programme. Kids will enjoy the weekly coaching session as well as the holiday camps. Whereas Adult will benefit from group coaching courses as well as private lessons and drop-in sessions.
At the heart of Waverley Lawn Tennis Club is a desire to see all those who wish to compete, on court active in match play. Therefore the club enters a large number of teams of all ages in a wide range of competitions. Currently multiple teams compete in East of Scotland Tennis Leagues. Teams are also active in the Scottish Cup, Robin Welsh Cup, Inter Club Singles. As well as the AEGON Team Tennis, Veterans Leagues, Veterans GB and Winter Leagues. Internally, a number of club tournaments are run each year.
Waverley Lawn Tennis, Squash and Sports Club offers flexible membership. Adults and families can join for both sports or Squash or Tennis only. Whereas Junior and Intermediate membership include for both squash and tennis.
The club also offers Squash, a gym and a Sauna room. Members love to relax in the bar with it’s full size championship snooker table, darts board and range of drinks.
