Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club

Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club is one of the country’s oldest and most respected clubs. All standards of player are encouraged, with activities available for players ranging from four year old beginners to top national standard adults. Whether it’s a friendly game of doubles, intensive coaching or a competitive singles match.

 

In addition to tennis, Cumberland also offers a Gym, Squash, Cricket and Hockey.

 

Social Play

In addition to being able to book courts for self organised games, Wednesday evening Club Night represents an opportunity to simply turn up and play. Members also enjoy meeting on a Sunday afternoon for another social play session.

 

Coaching

Club’s Director of Tennis, Daren Quilty hosts regular drop in and Cardio Tennis session for adults. Also during term time, Daren and the team run an extensive junior programme. For the very young there is mini tennis which uses smaller equipment and courts as well as fun games to teach the basics of tennis. As children progress the have the chance to join the club’s performance programme and weekly group coaching.

 

Competitive Tennis

If team competition is what you are after, the Club currently fields five mens and four ladies teams in local Middlesex leagues. As well as two mens and two ladies teams in the Aegon National Club League. There is also an annual Club Championships and regular club tournaments, which all members are welcome to join in. Juniors can compete in AEGON Team Tennis and Middlesex Leagues as well as in the club’s junior tournaments.

 

Membership

As Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club offers a range sports, many different membership options are available. Should you only wish to play tennis, then you can join that section. However, if you want access to all of the club’s facilities then there are membership packages on offer. In addition to fees, when becoming a member for the first time, you will be required to pay a joining fee.

 

Extras

The Café & Bar is open to all members and serves a wide range of food and drink. And with a menu designed to please, you’ll always enjoy the atmosphere! The venue is also available for children’s birthday parties.
