Studham Tennis Club
Through the summer of 1997 a keen group of tennis enthusiasts who had been using the single grass court facility at the Studham Playing Field decided to try and establish a Tennis Section to the Studham Sports & Social Club. With registration to the Lawn Tennis Association, Studham Tennis Club came into being.
Although small in the number of courts, Studham Tennis Club is happy and keen to promote Tennis at every level. Even to those who just come along to watch!
As the club aims to help all to stay active and heathy. So, it’s no surprise that each week members meet for a number of social tennis sessions. Along side the health benefits, these sessions are a fantastic way to work on your tennis game and meet new people. Plus as a member of Studham Tennis Club you have access to virtually unlimited court time for your own games.
The club’s Junior section has expanded and developed over the years under the watchful eye of the club’s LTA Grade 3 Coach Sally Parry. Her active programme allows youngsters to work off their boundless energy whilst learning the discipline of a structured sport. Sally also takes an Improvers ‘Rusty Rackets’ session for adults catering for all standards.
As a result of a strong competitive spirit, there are plenty of opportunities for those who wish to challenge themselves. Men’s, Ladies and Mixed teams compete in the South Bedfordshire League. A Men’s team competes in the Bedfordshire League. Also there is a Mixed team which competes in the South Beds Knock Out Trophy.
If you’re thinking of joining Studham Tennis Club then you’re more than welcome to visit the club before joining. While many members pay up front for annual membership, the club does offer pay monthly as well.
The Club enjoys a vibrant Social Calendar every year. The range of events includes Barbeques after tournaments, fun days, Quiz and Race Nights. As well as a Christmas Dance and get together.
