Avenue Lawn Tennis Club
The Avenue Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1912 with the aim of improving tennis standards of all ages and groups whilst benefiting from a high level of social inclusion and activity. The Avenue Lawn Tennis Club plays a role in the support of charities, fundraising and youth education training schemes.
Each week there’s six social tennis sessions, which run at various times and nearly daily. With such a wide range of sessions, all members can stay active and play tennis as often as they wish.
The club’s two coaches offer a wide range of lesson for all ages and standards. There’s regular group coaching for adults in term time as well as private lessons. For Junior members, Mike Matthews, head coach offers a number of coaching sessions on Saturday mornings and during the week after school.
In addition to club tournaments, teams are active in the Essex Senior League and the South West Essex leagues. So there is plenty of opportunity for more competitive play. The club is also the venue for the annual August South East regional junior tournament.
As the only tennis club in Loughton, Avenue Lawn Tennis Club offers a range of membership options. These include adult, junior, senior, as well as off-peak adult. All are welcome at the club and there are no joining fees.
