Colchester Officers’ Club
Set in a beautiful secluded environment, yet in the heart of Colchester’s town centre, the Colchester Officers’ Club is a private members’ club that has a unique charm all of its own. In addition to tennis, the club offers squash, golf and also has a swimming pool.
Social Play
There are regular club sessions, which are open to all standards on Saturdays and Wednesdays. These are a great way to play some tennis, work on your skills and catch up with old friends. Also, if you’re looking to play with friends, then there’s plenty of court time available for your own games.
Coaching
Tom Perry, the club’s pro hold tennis mornings and coaching groups for adults. As well as a Mini Tennis programme for juniors. As well as group coaching, the team offer individual lessons to all ages and standards. If you want to improve your tennis game, Tom and the team are on hand to help.
Competitive Tennis
For the more serious players, there are many teams that compete in the Colchester and District Tennis Leagues and Winter League. Plus, there is also Singles and Mixed Doubles Box Leagues for all standards which are a great opportunities to gain match practice, meet other members and have fun!
Membership
Colchester Officers’ Club offers 5 categories of membership including Single Playing, Family Playing and Junior Playing. While there is often a waiting list, currently club membership is open to all. Subscriptions can be paid annually or monthly. Visitors are welcome for a small fee and up to six times per year.
Extras
In addition to excellent sporting facilities, Colchester Officers’ Club has a bar, a restaurant and a lounge. And therefore members have a choice of where to relax post exercise. The centre also host social events and conferences, and is available for hire.
