East Glos Club
East Glos Club, Cheltenham is a fun, sociable members’ club for all ages and abilities. The club offer Tennis, Squash, and Hockey and sport is played all year round. In terms of tennis, there are 28 courts and 4 different playing surfaces. This enables you to experience a range of tennis.
Social Play
There are six social tennis sessions every week. So no matter how busy you are, there is a game waiting for you at East Glos Club. As well as providing regular playing opportunities, these club session enable you to work on your technique and meet new people. And as the club has one of the largest number of courts in the country, it’s easy to book a court for your own game.
Coaching
An extensive coaching programme is open to members and non-members alike. In addition to regular group courses for all ages, individual coaching is also available. Kids also benefit from a year round programme which aims to teach the basics of tennis in a fun enjoyable way. So regardless of your age, there really has never been a better time to develop your tennis skills.
Competitive Tennis
The competitive spirit is alive and well. The club runs 7 singles and 8 doubles ladders for men, ladies and mixed. Teams from the club also compete in local temmos leagues and inter county matches. The club is very active in the Summer and Winter Gloucestershire Leagues, Aegon Team Tennis (both the ladies and men compete at Regional level) and GB Seniors Inter Club.
Membership
Since there are no basic playing standard or entry requirements, joining East Glos Club is easy. However the club does charge a joining fee and membership could be considered pricey when compared to other local clubs. That said many membership types are available and you can choose to pay upfront or monthly.
Extras
As Cheltenham’s only racquet sports specialist, the East Glos Pro shop is unique. The shop also has a number of professional racquet stringers on site. Inside the clubhouse, the bar is open seven days a week and food is available in the Cafe six days a week.
