Ellesmere Port Tennis Club

Established in 2006 by Monica Robinson, Ellesmere Port Tennis Club concentrates on developing players of all abilities from all backgrounds. With the demise of the Lorna Foggerty Trust, Monica sourced a route to ensure the deprived community in Ellesmere Port could still access the sport of tennis with minimal barriers. Monica was awarded a lifetime achievement award in 2006 by the LTA. The same year, Ellesmere Port Tennis Club was also awarded club of the year.

Social Play

While the club shares courts and facilities with West Cheshire College, it’s focus is on children. Therefore there is no social tennis for adults available. However, kids have access to one of the country’s best coaching programme.

Coaching

There is a team of qualified tennis coaches waiting to welcome you. Coaching programmes run on a half-termly basis, with several sessions available to suit all ages and abilities. You do not need to be a club member to attend these sessions. For children, there are tennis camps, which combine learning a basic technique, rules, games and matchplay.

In the winter months to ensure year-round coaching, sessions take place at indoor tennis venues. These venues includes Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre.

Competitive Tennis

The club is active within local leagues. Competitive teams compete in the Wirral League, local Aegon league as well as others.

As a superb community facility, all activities at Ellesmere Port Tennis Club are available on a pay and play basis. Therefore you know exactly what you’re paying for!
