Fernhurst Tennis Club
Fernhurst Tennis Club was set up in 2009 to manage the serious fund-raising operation underway to finance the construction of three courts, seeking finance from both private and public sources. The Club is now fully operational with a thriving membership, a busy social programme and teams competing, with various degrees of success, in the East Hampshire League.
Social Play
Throughout the year members enjoy meeting on Saturday and Monday mornings for social tennis. During the Summer months, on Wednesday evenings, members head to Midhurst Tennis Club for even more social play! while courts are available on a pay and play basis, members have virtually unlimited court access for their own games.
Coaching
The club’s coaching is lead by Generation Tennis. Who offer a range of group lesson throughout the week. They also run fun camps for children during the school holidays.
Competitive Tennis
The Club currently competes in the Mens, Ladies, Mixed and Veterans’ Divisions of the East Hants Tennis League. And has experienced some success since joining the competitions. There is also an annual tournament for Mixed and Ladies Doubles in September each year.
Membership
While courts are available on a pay and play basis, Membership offers you many benefits. Including unlimited free play, access to coaching, tournaments and social events. The club’s members also have the opportunity to play in competitive matches.
Extras
The Club forms part of Fernhurst Recreation Ground alongside the Football, Cricket and Stoolball sections. The courts are situated behind the pavilion, which is behind the Red Lion pub.
