Frinton Lawn Tennis Club

Founded in 1899 as a private members’ club, Frinton Lawn Tennis, Croquet and Bowls Club flourished in post Victorian England. Although Croquet and Bowls were original activities of the Club, tennis is the sport that has made the Club become world famous.

 

Next to Wimbledon, Frinton Lawn Tennis Club was regarded as the major venue in the tennis calendar. In addition to the club’s 22 grass courts, Frinton was on a social standing on a par with Henley and Ascot. As a tournament venue, Frinton has attracted the world’s leading tennis players for over 7 decades.

 

In addition to 24 tennis courts, the club today also includes squash courts and a swimming pool.

 

Social Play

If you prefer a more social game, then join in at a club mix in session. Members meet on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday evenings and Friday mornings. As well as on Saturday afternoons. These means tennis players of all standards have the chance to play regularly while meeting new people and working on their game. Also as member you are able to book one of the club’s 24 court for your own games.

 

Coaching

Ladies Groups are run during the mornings as well as coaches being available for individual lessons. Cardio Tennis is also available. Juniors from the age of 5 have access to an fun coaching programme, with older juniors being able to play in competitive matches.

 

Competitive Tennis

A comprehensive league and tournaments programme is takes place throughout the year and enables players of all standards to engage in match play. So if you’re looking for a challenge, there’s plenty on offer!

 

Membership

Come and view Frinton Lawn Tennis Club without obligation. When you’re ready to join the club offers a range of annual memberships. If you’re visiting the area, the club also offers a number of temporary memberships. Visitors are welcome at the club for a small fee and up to three visits per year.

The clubhouse has a large function room with bar, which is available for hire.
