Marshfield Tennis Club

Marshfield Tennis Club was formed in 2009 by a small group of local tennis enthusiasts. They frequently met in the Lord Nelson to plan fund raising events, discuss issues with respect to a planning application as well as obtaining grants from the LTA. Since opening it’s door, the club has fostered a family friendly atmosphere and actively encourages parents to play with their children.

Social Play

Tuesday evenings is the main weekly club night. This event enables all to turn up and play. Other social tennis session do occur, but on a more ad-hoc basis. In addition it’s easy to book a court for your own game.

Coaching

Coaching is provided for juniors and adults, with group sessions on most days of the week. Private coaching is also available and a number of holiday camps for kids take place in school holidays.

Competitive Tennis

4 men’s teams and 2 ladies teams compete in the summer Chippenham and District League. The club also hosts it’s own box league and monthly American tournaments.

Membership

Marshfield Tennis Club draws it’s members from many local villages and aims to enable all resident, regardless of standard to play tennis. Therefore, the club offers a number of membership options which cater to a wide range of players. Adult membership costs just over £1 per week and therefore provides fantastic value for money. As a potential member, you’re welcome to join a session for free in order to experience the club before committing to joining.
