Onslow Village Lawn Tennis Club
Onslow Village Lawn Tennis Club is a small friendly club within a mile from the centre of Guildford. Started in 1922 by a group of tennis enthusiasts and continue to be a club run by members for the benefit of members. The club is committed to playing tennis and encouraging everyone at all levels to enjoy their game.
Social Play
There are regular club evenings and afternoons, which enable member to keep playing tennis all year round. If you’re thinking about joining, then the Saturday afternoon club session, is the best time to turn and mix in with the members. In addition to these social tennis sessions, members can easily book a court for their own games.
Coaching
If you’re looking to improve your game then a range of coaching is available. There is have a comprehensive junior coaching programme as well as individual adult coaching.
Competitive Tennis
For the more competitive, there are multiple teams in several local leagues. During the summer three mens and one mixed teams compete in the Chaucer League. As well as and three ladies’ teams in the Woking League. In the winter three mens and three ladie’ teams are active in the Aldershot and District League. In addition there is an annual Club tournament with the finals in mid-July.
Membership
Since Onslow Village Lawn Tennis Club offers four types of membership, tennis players of all ages are able to join. Visitors are also welcome, for a small fee, up to 6 times per year.
Extras
As a sociable club, members enjoy meeting away from the courts for a range of regular social activities and a very popular Quiz Night each Autumn!
