Ridgeway Tennis Club
Ridgeway Tennis Club is a small, friendly club set in the picturesque North Derbyshire village of Ridgeway. And just 5 miles from Sheffield. The club was founded in 1922 and is a sub-section of Ridgeway Sports and Social Club which was formerly called Ridgeway Memorial Institute and was founded after World War 1 on land left in trust to the village.
The club has access to three floodlit hard courts full time in the summer and at weekends in the winter. Players of all standards are welcome, from social players to team players, and juniors.
Social Play
Each week there are two social tennis sessions as well as plenty of court time for those who want to arrange casual matches with other club members.
Coaching
There is a weekly coaching session for juniors and adults. These are open to both members and non-members.
Competitive Tennis
There is competitive tennis as the club has men’s and mixed doubles teams in the Sheffield and District LTA leagues and a men’s team in the Works League. There is also an annual knock out tournament with competitions for Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Ladies Singles and Ladies Doubles.
