Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club
Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club originated on a single court, known as Manor House Tennis Club, at the former council offices. It relocated to the Wootton Bassett Sports Association’s Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, in the 1970’s. There, the single court evolved into a floodlit, four-court facility.
The Club provides a full programme of tennis, catering for all standards.
Social Play
There are two evening Club Sessions per week for social tennis on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year. This leaves plenty of time in the week for members to book court for their own games. Plus you can book court online!
Coaching
Head Coach, Alistair Ward, is an LTA Level 4 Accredited+ Performance Coach. Alistair, along with his team runs a full programme of year-round tennis, including Mini Tennis, Junior Coaching, Junior Performance and Adult Coaching.
Competitive Tennis
The club is a long-standing member of the Swindon and District League. During the summer season, the club competes with Mixed, Ladies’ and Men’s teams. Juniors have the opportunity to play in the National Junior Leagues and may be invited to play in Senior teams.
A number of fun tournaments take place at weekends and bank holidays or on Wednesday evenings. As well as a Closed Championships during June/July.
