Sandal Tennis Club
Sandal Tennis Club is a small, friendly and very welcoming club situated in the south of Wakefield, just off Barnsley Road in Sandal. Founded in 1885, the club is located near to the historic Sandal castle in Wakefield.
Social Play
There are three social tennis sessions throughout the week where everyone is welcome. These take place on Wednesday and Friday evenings as well as on Sunday afternoon.
Coaching
The club has an exciting range of coaching programmes for juniors and adults, suitable for either beginners or improvers. Nigel Glover, one of the club’s coaches runs Cardio Tennis sessions each week. Also, the club hosts a range of holiday camps for juniors.
Competitive Tennis
A mens team enters the Leeds tennis league and a junior team that enter the Leeds tennis league and the Aegon team tennis leagues. Throughout the year there are box leagues open to all club members.
Membership
The main aim of Sandal Tennis Club is to encourage anyone of any age, ability or background to come and try tennis.
