Shrewsbury Lawn Tennis Club
Shrewsbury Lawn Tennis Club is a long-established tennis club in the heart of Shrewsbury. The tennis courts are in a most beautiful setting beside the tree-lined banks of the River Severn, alongside the picturesque Shrewsbury Quarry parkland.
Club members collectively own the club, and so it has a lively and friendly membership base, with members from all age groups.
Social Play
Open club sessions are on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. These are open to all member, who can turn up and enjoy a friendly game of tennis. For more advanced/intermediate tennis players there is the Monday Mens or Tuesday Night Ladies. So there’s plenty of opportunities if you prefer a more social game.
Coaching
Some members play high-level competitive tennis and other members have only recently started playing or come late to the game, taking advantage of Mike Barton, the club’s LTA accredited coach.
Competitive Tennis
The club actively encourages members, both adults and juniors, to get involved in competitive tennis. And so, the club participates in both Summer and Winter leagues.
