St Andrew’s Tennis Club

St Andrew’s Tennis Club was started nearly 90 years ago by St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Sheffield. The Club has a rich and intriguing history and draws its members from all over Sheffield to play on the original red championship shale courts.

The Club opens in April and closes in late October and there is an opportunity to play “Winter Tennis” at various locations.

Social Play

During the season, there are 4 weekly club sessions. These occur on Monday Evenings, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Evening and Saturday Afternoon. So no matter how busy you are, there will always be a session you can make each week.

Members may use the courts free of charge at any other times. Non-members are welcome to play on the courts for a small fee.

Coaching

Coach Fabio Caparelli offers a range of coaching with weekly junior and adult group lessons.

Competitive Tennis

The club focuses on social play and therefore does not compete in league tennis. However, many other local clubs do and so if you’re looking for more competitive play then it could be best to look at other local clubs.

Membership

The Club is run and funded by its members and so fees are highly affordable. St Andrew’s Tennis Club offers four types of membership including adult, junior, family and student. So everyone is able to join the club and enjoy its facilities.
