Storrington Lawn Tennis Club

The Storrington Tennis Club, founded in 1938, is a friendly Club which warmly welcomes new members. Situated on the edge of Storrington in an idyllic location just at the foot of the South Downs. The club caters for all standards of play, from beginners to team players, from the young to he more mature.


Social Play

There are a massive 8 adult club sessions each week. These include 4 general, 2 men and 2 ladies. So regardless of how busy you are, you can find a session each week to enjoy playing tennis. the weekly programme also includes many opportunities for juniors to play tennis.


Pay and play is also available and open to members and non-members alike. Non-members can attend up to 6 sessions before becoming a member.



Nigel Matthews is the club’s head coach and is a level 5 LTA coach. In addition Caroline Matthews is a level 3 LTA coach and she coordinates the thriving mini tennis section for under ten-year-olds. Emily Quin is also a qualified LTA level 4 coach.


Nigel and his team offer excellent coaching opportunities throughout the year for adults and children. So if you’re looking to develop your skills, then help is available for all ages and abilities.


Competitive Tennis

The Club runs a number of teams in the senior and junior section that compete against various clubs in the county, both during the summer and winter months.


A number of tennis and social events are hosted during the year culminating with the Club Tournament finals in September.



Storrington Lawn Tennis Club does charge a joining fee but has a range of membership which caters to all ages and requirements. In addition to membership, visitors are welcome for a small fee.
