Westcliff Hardcourt Tennis Club
Established in 1929, Westcliff Hardcourt Tennis Club is the foremost club in the area. Tennis at the club is available for people of all ages and standards. So whether you’re a beginner or league player, there’s something for you.
Social Play
Social tennis plays an important part of club life. It’s what makes the club go around and gives it a sense of community. Social play takes place on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. These sessions are open to players of a good standard and you’re welcome to try a session if you’re unsure of your standard. Don’t worry if you’re not as the club offers many coaching routes which will bring your game up to standard.
Coaching
Westcliff Hard offers a full range of coaching options for adults and children. Prices for coaching are very reasonable. There are various adult courses on offer each as well as opportunities for private lessons. Plus you don’t need to be a member to join in. There’s also an exciting range for the juniors, which will inspire them to play tennis.
Graham, head coach is a fully licensed LTA coach with a proven track record in developing budding young tennis players into confident, mature players. Alongside Graham is a team of coaches, who are just as excellent.
Competitive Tennis
Since many members love playing matches, there is an abundance of teams playing in a range of different leagues. For example, there are club team Leigh and Westcliff leagues, Southend and District leagues as well as the Essex leagues.
In addition to league play, there are many club competitions throughout the year.
Membership
For adult beginners, and experienced players returning to the game, Westcliff Hardcourt Tennis Club offers a “try before you buy” membership through our Rusty Rackets & Newbies programme.
For children a tiered pricing structure is available, meaning you get good value for money. And of course, the club offers a range of membership options so caters to a wide range of ages and requirements.
Extras
Graham, the head coach, runs a racket re-stringing service open to both club members and members of the public.
