Banbridge Tennis Club

Banbridge Tennis Club meets regularly at King George V playing fields in Banbridge. The club plays on courts owned by Banbridge District Council. The club has a Junior section and a Senior section, however the two are closely linked and the club believes that it provides a friendly, open welcome for players of all ages and abilities.

 

Social Play

As a superb community sports club, social tennis is at the heart of everything that happens. Therefore, there are weekly sessions which encourage members to play some tennis and improve their skills.

 

Coaching

Club Coach, Cyril McClune offers a range of coaching for all ages and abilities. Both group and individual sessions available.

 

Competitive Tennis

A number of teams – junior, senior, ladies and men’s compete in the Belfast and District leagues throughout the year. As well as inter-club matches, during the summer there is a number of club fixtures. These include Captain’s Day, President’s night and a sponsored Tennis-In marathon to raise money for charity. One of the most popular club fixtures is the Senior Club’s annual match against Elm Park in Dublin.

 

Membership

There is a range of membership options. Family membership was introduced several years ago. And doing so has nearly doubled the amount of members.

 

Extras

Banbridge Tennis Club also enjoy a number of social events, most take place in the modern, new clubhouse that is shared with the bowling club.
