Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club

Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club has existed since 1885 and is a thriving and successful club situated within Rectory Fields. The club is part of the Blackheath Sports Club incorporating tennis, rugby, squash and cricket. The club facilities include a court-side pavilion and the main clubhouse bar.

 

Social Play

The club’s busy programme has social play at it’s heart. There are adult Club sessions are on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. These mix in and play doubles sessions are a great way to stay active and on top your tennis game.

 

Saturday evening during term time is set aside for junior social tennis. All participants in the clubs coaching programme are invited to attend these social sessions free of charge which is supervised by a coaches.

 

Coaching

Greg Whitecross has been leading the coaching team since 2009. Under Greg’s leadership, the club has a comprehensive year round coaching programme comprising of individual and group lessons for all ages and abilities.

 

Competitive Tennis

For the competitive, a wide variety of Mens, Ladies, Mixed, Veterans and mid week teams compete in both Kent and North Kent Leagues. This therefore provides match play for players of all ages and standards.

 

Membership

While Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club offers a range of memberships including off-peak, over 60s, and junior, the club does charge a joining fee. Full adult membership costs just under £7 per week.
