Blaydon Tennis Club
Situated in the beautiful Derwent Walk Country Park, Blaydon Tennis Club is a friendly and award winning Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Clubmark Approved club. Founded in 1922 as ‘The Blaydon Wesley Guild Lawn Tennis Club’, the club merged with ‘Blaydon Methodist Tennis Club’ in 1961, before moving to its current and enviable premises in June 1999.
Whether you want to play for fitness, for fun, or to develop your skills and play competitive tennis, the club can satisfy for your needs and provide you with an experience that you will want to repeat again and again. Blaydon Tennis Club really is the place to play in the North East.
Social Play
There a massive 8 social play session each week. These includes ladies only, men only and mixed sessions as well as a beginners mixed session on Sunday evenings. Outside of these session, there are plenty of opportunities to book courts for your own use.
Coaching
The club excellent coaching is provided by Gateshead Tennis. Their highly qualified team offers 1 to 1 and group coaching for both adults and juniors. So, whether your a junior just getting started or an adult look to improve their tactical play, there is some coaching available to enable you to improve.
Competitive Tennis
Blaydon enters multiple teams in both summer and winter leagues. Plus, there’s a team for all standards and ages including Juniors, Seniors, Veterans and both single-sexed and mixed. The club also runs various competitions throughout the year. Therefore if you want to play competitive tennis, the club offers a range.
Membership
With an exciting programme as well as many membership benefits, joining the club is affordable and easy. If you are not quite ready to join but want some coaching, then you can book onto a course for a reasonable fee. Pay and play session also take place at the club.
