Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club
Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club has been around for a long time! Located on the south side of Lancaster, not far from Booths and the Boot and Shoe pub! There’s never been a better time to join as the courts were resurfaced in November 2017 with an ITF approved Matchplay 2 XL carpet surface. This means you can play rain or shine on this surface! So, whether you’re a beginner, improver or tennis pro there’s something for you at Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club.
Social Play
The club run an extensive social tennis programme for all ages and abilities. While most enjoy playing during our the English summers, there are a few stalwarts who are out in all weathers, winter and summer alike!
Coaching
As there’s always room for improvement, John Varney, an LTA Level 3 coach is here to help. His junior sessions are very popular and growing, running after school and at weekendsHe also offers all levels of senior coaching, both individual and group.
Competitive Tennis
If it’s team tennis you’re after, there’s plenty on offer. 3 ladies’, 3 mens’, 1 under 17s junior, 1 veteran’s and 1 mixed team compete in a variety of leagues. There are also club teams in Lancashire knock-out competitions. So whatever your level, you’re likely to find a team to suit your ability. If you'[re not quite ready for league play then the club offers an annual championships, which is open to all and is a superb way to challenge yourself.
Membership
Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club offer a range of affordable membership packages. And there’s even a special rate for new members this season. You are welcome to join at any point and so why not come down for a club night?!
Extras
The large clubhouse hasa lounge area and bar and is popular after an evening of tennis. It’s also the setting for the club’s social events.
