Clifton Lawn Tennis Club
Clifton Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving Club in the centre of Clifton in Bristol, which provides superb quality tennis with great facilities for all age groups.
Social Play
Members meet three times each week for informal social play. These sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as on Saturday afternoons. Outside this programme members are free to book courts for their play.
Coaching
Paul Bathard, the club’s head coach is very experienced and is a CCA licensed coach. He brings enthusiasm and patience to his coaching role. A range of coaching is available from mini tennis to small adult group. Paul also offers coaching for non-members.
Competitive Tennis
Well regarded for it competitive opportunities. Club teams compete during the summer in the Avon County LTA Leagues with mens and ladies team as well as a team of juniors in each category. Also, in summer teams compete in the Avon LTA mixed summer and Vets leagues. The competitive action continues in winter with 2 mixed teams and 1 veteran’s team in the Avon County LTA League.
Membership
Since the membership is limited to a certain number, it might prove difficult to join. Since Clifton Lawn Tennis Club does not have a waiting lists, if you’re interesting in joining, then contact the club at your first opportunity.
Extras
As a community club, various social events take place throughout the year. This programme includes BBQs, quiz nights, a cheese and wine quiz night and a Christmas mulled wine get together. Also during the winter about some members meet on a Thursday evening to play bridge in the clubhouse.
