Colchester Lawn Tennis Club
Colchester Lawn Tennis Club is one of two Clubs using the facilities at West End Sports Ground. As a traditional lawn tennis club, members play on grass courts and therefore only play from May to September. New members are always welcome to join in the club’s fantastic programme.
Social Play
Club nights are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. These session run from May through to September. Also during in the summer season members are can book courts for a friendly knock about.
Coaching
As the club only operates for 6 months each year, no coaching programme is provided. Therefore you may want to look at other local club if you’re after a full coaching programme.
Competitive Tennis
The Club competes in the Colchester and District Tennis League, with two Mens teams, two Ladies teams and three Mixed teams. There is also a Mens and a Mixed team who enter the winter league.
Membership
New member are always welcome and the club offers adult, student, Junior, and Family membership. Since there are no joining fee and subscription costs are very affordable, becoming a member of Colchester Lawn Tennis Club is easy. Visitors are also welcome at the club for a maximum of two visits each year and for a small fee.
This club does not exist anymore. It is now amalgamated into Lexden Hill LTC, which has 9 grass courts (non-floodlit).
