Frome Selwood Tennis Club

Based in Somerset, Frome Selwood Tennis Club welcomes players of all abilities as members. The club has three floodlit artificial grass courts. And also is responsible for three new community courts in Victoria Park, which are situated immediately next to the club. These courts can be booked up to 14 days in advance and are free to members and cost £5 per hour to the public.

 

Social Play

There are regular club sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Members just turn up and mix in. Of course, you can also book your own courts.

 

Coaching

If you want to improve your game, then you might like to take advantage of some coaching at the club. The club coach offers both group or individual sessions.

 

The Junior section is very active with year-round coaching sessions on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

 

Competitive Tennis

For members who would to play competitively, 9 teams are active in the local doubles league. For singles, there is an annual Ratings Tournament in the summer where players enter and compete at their ability level. The club also hosts various internal competitions and leagues, throughout the year.

 

Membership

In addition to individual membership, a number of packages are available. Fees are affordable with adult membership costing just under £2 per week. Also visitors are welcome at the club for a small fee.

 

Extras

Off the courts, there are occasional social events such as quiz evenings and skittles evenings.
