Haddenham Tennis Club

The grand idea behind Haddenham Tennis Club was to provide the village with decent tennis courts for local residents’ use. And after some fund-raising, in 1986, the village had two tennis courts and the club was born. Fast forward a few years, the club had three courts and floodlighting. The community spirit and high standards have been recognised by the awarding of the Tennismark accreditation.

Social Play

There are regular social tennis sessions, particularly during the summer season. These allow members to meet and play some tennis while meeting new members.

Coaching

As a local club, all village residents and families whose children attend local schools, benefit from membership priority. Due to this local focus, the club now provides tennis coaching at all Haddenham Schools. The club therefore encourages tennis to be part of the school curriculum. There is a strong bias toward Juniors, with full coaching as well as development programmes implemented to ensure all reach their potential.

Competitive Tennis

Haddenham Tennis Club has a strong senior playing membership that has increased greatly in recent years. Competitively, the club enters many senior and junior teams in the local Bucks Aylesbury & District leagues as well as teams in the Oxfordshire leagues.

Membership

The club offers affordable membership, which ranges from the £50 mark for over 60s to just over £200 for family membership. Since the club offers discounts on early renewals, there are many ways to benefit from membership.

Extras

For all ages, there are regular social activities, particularly during the summer season. These are open to all members and friends are also welcome at these events.
