Highbury Tennis Club
Highbury Tennis Club was launched in 2012 to encourage social and competitive play at Highbury Fields in Islington, North London. There’s something for all ages and abilities at the club as well as highly affordable membership.
Social Play
There is some social tennis too but the aim is to encourage people to play competitively in various local leagues. The club offers weekend and midweek sessions. So everyone, whether working, at home or retired, can find a time to suit them.
Coaching
The club coach assess all newcomers in order to provide the best playing expereince. Then they’re invited to take part in one of many weekly regular development sessions. These range from “Rusty Racquets” for those who haven’t played for many years to coached club sessions with one of the teams.
Competitive Tennis
The teams play competitively in the Middlesex Summer League, the Winter Floodlit League, the Middlesex Cup, the Aegon Team Tennis competition and Middlesex Veterans’ Mixed Doubles and we try out new competitive options all the while. These competitions provide a focus for development and are great fun as teams get to compete against a range of clubs around north London.
Membership
As Highbury Tennis Club costs a faction of many London tennis clubs, everyone is able to join and enjoy the sport. Plus if you’re not sure then you’re welcome to visit the club once for a taster session.
