Kings Lawn Tennis Club
Kings Lawn Tennis Club is a small, friendly club in Bishopston, Bristol. New players of all ages and standards are always welcome. The club’s 7 courts offers a choice of playing surfaces, with 2 acrylic and 5 hard. 6 courts are floodlit and there’s also a practice wall.
Whether you are new to tennis, haven’t played in years or are an experienced player looking for some competitive action in the league there is something for you at Kings. Come and see for yourself. Don’t worry if you don’t have a racket, Kings will be able to lend you one, so that you can try before joining!
There are regular social tennis sessions which encourage members to develop their skill and stay active. Not only are these are great to play some tennis, they are perfect for making new friends.
Kings Lawn Tennis Club provides an extensive range of coaching for both juniors and adults. The first rate coaching team, offer both group and individual coaching. Juniors also the chance to join fun holiday camps throughout the year!
Teams compete in local tennis leagues throughout the year in both the summer and winter leagues, including junior sections. A number of internal competitions take place each year including a singles ladder. This club competition is a great way to challenge yourself and meet fellow tennis enthusiasts!
A variety of membership packages are available. While you don’t need to be a member to enjoy the coaching, the benefits of joining far outweigh the cost. If you want to come and get a feel for Kings Lawn Tennis Club then drop by on a Saturday morning when the ‘Saturday Cafe’ serves tea, coffee and bacon rolls from 09:30-10:30.
The modern clubhouse, complete with age function room and bar can be hired for private events. The club organises social events throughout the year, such as quiz nights, wine tasting, a summer party with BBQ, film nights and of course adult and junior Christmas parties. The clubhouse also features a projector and a big screen which makes the club a great place to watch major sporting events, with the Six Nations and Wimbledon being particularly popular.
