Meads Lawn Tennis at ROMPA
Situated in Eastbourne, Meads Lawn Tennis at ROMPA is a friendly Tennis Club. The club’s membership includes tennis enthusiasts and novices as well as those in-between! Whether you are a serious or recreational player Meads Lawn Tennis can cater for all levels and all ages.
ROMPA was formed in 1981 with the objective of ensuring that fields already used for recreational activities in Meads continued to be available for the benefit of the immediate and the wider community. ROMPA is a non-profit making registered charity. As Tennismark+ status club, both the LTA and Sport England recognise the club’s strong leadership and good programme.
Social Play
Members enjoy playing at the weekly club session, as it enables them to stay active, work on their game and catch up with friends. Some even like to book a court for their own games. While Meads Lawn Tennis is a members only, guests are allow to up to seven time each year for a small fee.
Coaching
Francesca Scollo , the club’s LTA qualified performance coach offers an extensive range of group and individual coaching is available. Juniors also benefit from the excellent coaching and can join camps in the school holidays. And so, there has never been a better time to develop your tennis skills.
Competitive Tennis
The competitive spirit is alive and well at the club. Teams compete in a variety of leagues as well as in club competitions. The club also runs an annual club championships and American tournaments throughout the year.
Membership
While there is a joining fee, adult membership costs around £2 per week. In addition many other types of membership is offer including junior and family. Therefore, Meads Lawn Tennis at ROMPA really does cater to all types of tennis players.
Extras
The clubhouse plays host to a number of social functions throughout the year. Including a regular table tennis group and Bridge club. The clubhouse’s large TVs are fantastic for watching major sporting events. Also the facilities are available to hire for special occasions.
