New Malden Sports Club
Established in 1922, New Malden Sports Club was originally known as Courtlands Tennis Club. The club has continued to evolve over the years to include Squash and Badminton. The club can lay claim to Fred Perry as a former tennis tournament champion. Also many high quality County players have come through the club. In 1998 Courtlands Health and Fitness Suite was opened, thus keeping a connection with the club’s history.
Social Play
5 organised social sessions held throughout the week and gives you the chance to mix in with other members. There are also a mid-week ladies’ group. At all other times the courts are available for use unless booked for coaching, club matches, league matches or individual play.
Coaching
Coaching is available for both adults and juniors at New Malden Sports Club. There is also an active Junior coaching programme on Saturday mornings. As well as running activity weeks during the school holidays.
Competitive Tennis
There are numerous singles leagues, that take place throughout the year and are open to players of all standards and ages. Plus, each Summer there is an annual tournament. On top, there are many American tournaments each year.
The Club enters a number of teams in the Surrey Leagues during both the Summer and Winter seasons, with one Ladies’ team and two Men’s teams currently competing.
Membership
As New Malden Sports Club offers a range of sports, there is a number of membership options available. So whether you only want to play tennis midweek, or looking to get fit as a family and want access to all of the facilities, there is a membership option for you. There are no joining fees and memberships fees can be either paid annually or monthly.
Extras
Known for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, New Malden Tennis, Squash & Badminton Sports Club has an active social scene. Numerous social events take place throughout the year and these are open to all members.
