Pavilion and Avenue Lawn Tennis Club
Pavilion and Avenue Lawn Tennis Club dates back to 1888, when the club was first located on the Pavilion Lawns in Brighton. Today, the club can be found at the Droveway in Hove, in extensive landscaped gardens with distant sea views. The club is recognised as one of the country’s top performance centres through it’s achievement in junior tennis.
Social Play
With social tennis session on six days each week, there’s plenty of opportunities to play tennis. All of these sessions are turn up and mix in, and are a great way to meet new people and stay active. Sessions continue all year round as two courts sit under an air dome in the winter. So, let’s get on court! Prospective members are welcome to come to any of the above sessions once for free before deciding whether to join the Club.
Coaching
The club maintains status as an LTA National accredited Performance Centre, one of only 3 in Sussex. The club is also ‘Tennis Mark’ status. Some juniors have gone on to play at national and international levels. The coaching team run squads for all ages and abilities as well as affordable one to one lessons. Kids can also join fun holiday camps during the school breaks!
Competitive Tennis
Pavilion and Avenue Lawn Tennis Club is keen to encourage competitive tennis and has a number of teams in the Sussex and National Club Leagues. Within the Club there is an annual Club Tournament and singles and doubles leagues run throughout the year.
Membership
As the club is open to all, there are a number of memberships to choose from. Fees are affordable and joining is easy. If you’re thinking of joining, come and experience the club at one of the many weekly social play sessions.
Extras
The comfy clubhouse bar is perfect for relaxing with a drink and a snack after playing some tennis. You can also buy tennis balls, racket grips and dampeners and book courts.
