Shooters Hill Lawn Tennis Club

Shooters Hill Lawn Tennis Club is a members club providing social and competitive tennis for all levels and abilities. The club was formed in 1927 and was initially part of the Shooters Hill Golf Club before becoming independent in 1967.

 

Shooters Hill Lawn Tennis Club has six all-weather, floodlit macadam courts and provides social play, box leagues, tournaments, inter-club team matches, with unlimited access 365 days a year.

 

As a small, friendly club that caters for all ages and abilities, there’s something for everyone.

 

Social Play

All members welcome to Club Play on a Sunday afternoon. Plus there’s an American Tournament on the last Sunday of each month. There’s also plenty of time when the courts are available to members.

 

Coaching

Phil Layfield is in charge of organising a team of coaches at the club who deliver an extensive junior and adult coaching programme. Phil is also responsible for developing links with local schools.

 

For adults, individual lessons are available for members and non-members throughout the year. Whereas the junior programme includes weekly coaching and competitions as well as camps during the school holidays.

 

Competitive Tennis

There are opportunities for competitive play at all ages and levels. Phil helps to run the local Kent junior league. For adults, there’s a variety on offer from club tournaments to league matches. So, whatever your age. there’s plenty of match play available.
