Sidcup Recreation Club

Dating back to 1904, Sidcup Recreation Club is a social club with sport sections. The club includes a Bowls Section with a 7 rink bowls green, a Tennis Section and a golf section. As well as a large clubhouse with a bar and 3 Snooker tables.

Social Play

Sidcup Recreation Club Tennis has 3 floodlit, well maintained hard courts. Members can book courts up to 2 weeks in advance, or you can just turn up and play on any unbooked court.

There are regular social tennis sessions, both during the week and at weekends when members who want a friendly game are able to come along and make up doubles to join in with others.

Coaching

While there is no coaching programme currently, the club is hoping to provide coaching for both adults and children in the near future.

Competitive Tennis

For those of you who are more competitive, the Club has a ladies, mens and mixed doubles team competing in inter-club leagues throughout the year.  Also, a fun ‘American Doubles’ tournament takes place every August. And there’s a Club championship (singles and doubles) throughout the summer with the finals in September.

Membership

While you have to join the social club before joining the tennis section, fees are affordable. Sidcup Recreation Club offers a number of membership options and so all are able to join.

Extras

In the Autumn, there is a Tennis Dinner and Dance where championship prizes are awarded. This event is open to both tennis and social members of the Club and is an enjoyable night.
