Wedmore Tennis Club

Located in a tranquil setting, Wedmore Tennis Club members enjoy playing competitively, socially, to develop fitness or just to have fun. The LTA Tennismark accredited club is a lively family-oriented club run by a committee of enthusiastic volunteers.

Social Play

There are three weekly social tennis sessions which are open to all. Two sessions during the evenings and one on a Saturday afternoon. These sessions provide the opportunity to meet and play with other members.

A full programme of coaching is on offer to adults and juniors with both beginners and improvers catered for. Both mixed and ladies classes are available for beginners, rusty returners and improvers. If you’re looking at improving your fitness, then join one of the 2 weekly cardio tennis sessions.

For junior members, there are a full range of mini tennis sessions each week as well as mixed and girls only teenage squads. The coaches are also available for one to one and small groups. During the school holidays, juniors can join popular camps.

Competitive Tennis

The club has the highest number of teams competing in the North Somerset Summer league with 6 ladies and 5 mens teams. During the winter, 2 mixed and 2 Vets teams compete for the club. Also, 3 junior teams compete in summer league matches.

In addition to league play, a number of club tournaments take place each year. These include a winter doubles round robin and various one-day doubles tournaments for adults. The club’s championships is one of the club’s annual highlight and culminate in an exciting finals day with BBQ.

Whether you’re an adult, junior or family, Wedmore Tennis Club has a membership package for you. And since there’s no joining fee or playing in tests, becoming a member is simple.
