West Heaton Bowling, Tennis and Squash Club

West Heaton Bowling, Tennis and Squash Club offers a superb range of sporting and social facilities. The centre is located at a picturesque site in Heaton Moor, near Tithe Barn School. The Club began life, way back in 1873, as a Bowling and Croquet Club and now includes tennis and squash.


With a bowling green, six floodlit tennis courts, two squash courts, a comfortable bar lounge and a function room (which you can be hire), there’s something for everyone people.


Social Play

Tennis at the club is a truly all-year-round sport with plenty of members enthusiastic enough to play in all but the harshest of elements! So there’s always a game going and plenty of people to play against. So join in at one of the many weekly club sessions or book a court.



Adult Tennis Xpress courses are a superb starting place for Beginners and Re-Starters and these 6-week courses are open to Non-Members as well. However, if you’re looking to develop your playing then Intermediate Coaching and Rusty Racquets Coaching course are available.


Juniors can join the club’s exciting coaching programme. There are regular sessions during term time and camps during the holidays.


Competitive Tennis

In addition to many opportunities for social play and coaching, several teams compete in local leagues.



West Heaton Tennis always welcomes new members including beginners, park players or those who have had a break. The club offers a range of monthly memberships and here’s even a discount for new members.
