Torquay Lawn Tennis Club

Steeped in history Torquay Lawn Tennis Club was formed in 1932 and over the years has played host to a number of former tennis greats. The centre is very proud to host one of the Countries leading tennis tournaments ‘The Torbay Open’, a competition which has been going since 1887.

 

The club has an all-inclusive concept whereby it has ‘something for everyone’. From developing new players, having a vibrant adult social membership or training high-performance juniors to National Standard, the club offers a personalised tennis experience for players of all ages and standards.

 

Social Play

The club has a vibrant social tennis scene with many weekly club sessions. These social sessions are doubles mix in sessions and members enjoy a good variety of play. This enables the membership to be very friendly and is always very well attended. There’s also plenty of court time for members and non-members to book.

 

Coaching

Spearheaded by the Clubs Head Coach, Steve Maslen, the club is one of the South Wests leading LTA Landscape Performance Centres. The club has established an extensive coaching team, all working extremely hard at the club.

 

There’s a superb range of group and individual lesson available for all ages. As well as pay as you go group coaching which is open to both members and non-members.

 

Competitive Tennis

In addition to coaching and social play, the club runs a number of singles ladders and tournaments. These are open to all and encourage a competitive spirit.

 

Membership

With a range of membership packages available, Torquay Lawn Tennis Club provides something for all ages. In addition to membership, the centre also offers courts on a pay and play basis.
