Bearsted and Thurnham Lawn Tennis Club

Bearsted and Thurnham Lawn Tennis Club is situated in the heart of Bearsted village. Between the Holy Cross Church and the Ashford Road (A20). It offers excellent facilities for all standards and ages.

 

The club has a superb reputation for being a very social and friendly club, while still maintaining an exceptional standard of tennis.

 

Social Play

Social tennis is very popular. There are sessions on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings throughout the year. Plus with floodlit courts, you can continue to play all year round. Let’s get on court!

 

Coaching

A new coaching partnership with Maidstone Tennis Academy (MTA) is flourishing. MTA run both adult and junior coaching programmes throughout the year.  Currently, adults can joing either the Mixed Morning, Ladies’ practice night or the Improvers’ Club Night. MTA offer a free assessment session for anyone thinking about having coaching. Non-members can also have coaching for a 6 week period to improve their play before joining the club.

 

Competitive Tennis

Competitive tennis is alive and well! Men’s Doubles, Ladies Doubles, Men’s and Ladies Vets Double. As well as Mixed Doubles and Combi teams compete in the Kent League, East Kent League and Maidstone and District League.

 

The club also runs its Annual Club Championship during the summer season. Open to all members, this tournament enables all to challenge themselves with match play.
