Blackburn Northern

Blackburn Northern is East Lancashire’s premier multi-sports club. The centre provides facilities for tennis, hockey and squash enthusiasts of all ages and standards. Recognised for its high standards, the club holds Clubmark status.

 

The club is one of the leading tennis clubs in the region with modern state of the art playing facilities. Over the last six year, all the tennis courts have either been constructed or resurfaced. This includes two new courts, covered by an air dome.

 

Social Play

There are many opportunities for the casual social player including club nights on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer. As well as plenty of court time, which is easily booked for your own game.

 

Coaching

Blackburn Northern’s has had a highly successful coaching programme running for over 20 years. The club has a strong tradition of producing players of club, County and National standard. One of the central aims of the coaching programme is developing players from young ages. Also as an LTA accredited Mini Tennis Centre, children get the best possible start. In addition, group and individual lessons for adults are available.

 

Competitive Tennis

The club offers a mixture of competitive tennis. A club championship takes place every year during the late summer. Also club teams compete in Slazenger East Lancashire Tennis League, National Club League, and more.

 

Membership

Blackburn Northern offers a range of membership. Indoor courts operate on a pay and play basis and members and non-members can easily book online.

 

Extras

In addition to the sporting options, the club is very active socially, a range of event take place throughout the year.
