What struck me when I 1st joined Hayes was the lovely semi-rural setting with lots of mature trees in the nearby wooded areas. It is so pleasant to play tennis early in the morning while the robins sing and the finches chatter from the fir trees surrounding the courts.
I never knew what a comfort it is to play on artificial grass. I notice the difference if I play away on concrete; the home surface is so much kinder to the joints!
There are plenty of competitive matches for everyone but there are lots of other opportunities to play and have a laugh as well.
The bar is a very comfortable area in which to have match teas or a drink or watch sky TV after a hard game.
