Newton Poppleford and Harpford Tennis Club

Located in a picturesque setting in the heart of the Otter Valley in East Devon, Newton Poppleford and Harpford Tennis Club is a small but proud club. With tennis played all year round, the club is solely run for the benefit of its members.

Social Play

Generally, there’s no need no pre-booking of courts, with the exception of club night. These take place on Thursday evenings, Sunday afternoons, and Vets afternoon on a Wednesday. The standard of tennis at this session varies almost as much as the age range!

Coaching

Juniors enjoy their tennis at Newton Poppleford, with periodic coaching available. There is also a coached after school club during the Summer term for pupils from Newton Poppleford Primary School. Sadly no adult coaching is currently available.

Competitive Tennis

The club is active in the local Devon leagues. And as a result, there are opportunities for all who wish to play competitively.

Membership

Newton Poppleford and Harpford Tennis Club aim to be the best value club in Devon. Fees are deliberately kept as low to encourage as many people as possible to participate. It’s easy to join and members have unlimited court time and access to the various social activities throughout the year.

Extras

The club’s a very social one with something happening each month, from fun tournaments, through to roving suppers. There’s also a Wimbledon Ball, Annual Dinner and even a new Summer Skittles Team!
